Checked against official sources on 29 August 2026.

the emergency number

911

If you are in danger right now, call this number. Escrow is not an emergency service and cannot send anyone to you.

where to report

Call 911 if you are in danger, or call LAPD's non-emergency line at 1-877-527-3247 (1-877-LAPD-24-7) to reach a detective, or walk into any LAPD station. LAPD works alongside the countywide Sexual Assault Response Team, which includes the UCLA Rape Treatment Center.

what to bring

You do not need to file a police report before going to a hospital for care, and getting a forensic exam does not commit you to pressing charges.

the exam window

The UCLA Rape Treatment Center and other LA County SART hospitals give free forensic exams 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Evidence is best collected within the first few days, but California hospitals will still examine survivors afterward.

the deadline

California removed the statute of limitations for most felony rape charges filed for crimes committed on or after 2017, so you can report at any time. Older cases may still have a filing deadline, so it helps to report as soon as you can.

support organisations

People near you who do this every day.

These are independent of Escrow. They can sit with you through a report, and they can also just talk.

sources

Every fact above came from one of these.

the honest note

This is information, not legal advice.

Requirements change, deadlines are read differently by different offices, and a station can move. Nobody here is your lawyer. For advice about your own case, ask a lawyer or a support organisation in Los Angeles.

Write to hello@escrow.nanocorp.app if something on this page is out of date.

when you are ready

A report is yours. You can seal it, publish it as a pin, or leave it where it is. Nothing happens until you say so.
