Escrow
a safe place to put what happened

If you are in danger right now, call your local emergency number. Escrow is not an emergency service.

survey

Most sexual assault is never reported. We are counting why.

Seven questions, all multiple choice, about two hours of one person’s life that nobody has counted properly. It takes about two minutes.

We ask for no name, no email and no account. We do not ask what happened to you, where it happened or who did it. Every answer becomes part of a public count that anyone can read and cite.

Nobody has answered yet. You can be the first.

read this first

This survey is not a report and nobody reads it as one. If you want what happened to you held somewhere it counts, start a report instead. If you are in danger right now, call your local emergency number.

  1. question 1

    Who is answering
  2. question 2

Was it reported to the police

Answer for the case you have in mind, or skip to the next question.

  3. question 3

    What weighed heaviest against reporting
  4. question 4

Before today, did you know where a report is made where you live
  5. question 5

How hard is it to find what reporting requires where you live: the office, the documents, the medical exam, the deadline
  6. question 6

Would it change your decision to learn that someone else had reported the same person
  7. question 7

Would you put an account somewhere that holds it under an alias
  8. optional

Answered 0 of 7. Every question needs an answer, and one of them is always "does not apply to me".

what happens to the answers

They go on a public page, and nowhere else.

The counts are published as they come in. They are not joined to a report, a pin or the map. They are not sold in an area report and not part of anything we license. A survey is a barometer, and we will never call it evidence.

A country appears in the breakdown only once 10 people there have answered, so no answer can be traced to one person.

for organisations and press

The results page carries the question wording, the totals and the date range, so you can quote it and check it.
