where to report
Call 999 in an emergency, or contact Police Scotland by phone or its online form to report rape or sexual crime; there is no pressure to go through with an investigation. You can also self-refer directly to Archway Glasgow, an NHS Sexual Assault Response Coordination Service, without involving the police at all.
what to bring
No documents or ID are needed to self-refer to Archway Glasgow or to make a police report, and Archway will talk through your options before you decide anything.
the exam window
Archway Glasgow's phoneline is open 24 hours a day and books appointment-based forensic medical exams. NHS Scotland can still take swabs if it has been more than 7 days, and evidence taken through SARCS can be stored for 26 months even if you have not yet decided to report.
the deadline
Scots law sets no time limit for reporting rape or sexual crime to Police Scotland, so you can come forward months or years later and still be taken seriously.
