If you are in danger right now, call your local emergency number. Escrow is not an emergency service.
How to report sexual assault in Abuja

Checked against official sources on 29 August 2026.
the emergency number
If you are in danger right now, call this number. Escrow is not an emergency service and cannot send anyone to you.
where to report
Report to the nearest police station or to NAPTIP's VAPP Department, the federal agency handling sexual violence cases in the FCT, based in Wuse Zone 5. The police can refer you to the Awyetu Sexual Assault Referral Centre at Bwari General Hospital for care.
what to bring
No documents or ID are required to make a report. You can go straight to a hospital or SARC for treatment even if you do not want to report to police.
the exam window
The Awyetu SARC at Bwari General Hospital offers free medical treatment, counselling, and a forensic exam with documentation for court. Report and seek care as soon as possible, since washing or changing clothes can affect evidence.
the deadline
There is no single nationwide statute of limitations for rape under the VAPP Act, and practice varies by state. Reporting sooner improves the chance evidence can support a prosecution.
support organisations
People near you who do this every day.
These are independent of Escrow. They can sit with you through a report, and they can also just talk.

when you are ready
A report is yours. You can seal it, publish it as a pin, or leave it where it is. Nothing happens until you say so.
