where to report
Go to the Women and Children Protection Desk at any PNP police station in Cebu City, or the PNP Women and Children Protection Center. You can also report to the NBI regional office or the city prosecutor's office.
what to bring
No documents or ID are required to make a report. You may be asked to give a sworn statement describing what happened.
the exam window
Seek a medico-legal examination as soon as possible at a hospital or government-run recovery center with a Women and Children Protection Unit. HIV prevention medication works best if started within 72 hours, but a medico-legal exam is not required before reporting.
the deadline
There is no rule requiring you to report within hours or days. Rape punishable by life imprisonment can generally be prosecuted for up to 20 years, and lesser forms up to 15 years, after the act.
